Project Description

The Country Paradise Parklands (the Parklands) is a large, community managed park which is open to the public. The grounds feature stables, a community garden, Men’s Shed workshop and an adventure playground.

Development Directive worked in conjunction with Better Cities Group who were commissioned by City of Gold Coast to develop a Strategic Direction Report that will be supported and endorsed by Council, stakeholders and the community and will help assist the future management and priority directions for the Parklands over the next 15+ years. These directions will be led by the City of Gold Coast and include ‘The Great Walk’, renewal of existing buildings, and the establishment of a Horticultural Community Precinct and a Multipurpose Facility.

Development Directive provided a background on the local and state government planning controls relevant to the site and the recommended approval pathway for each project. This included the identification of possible proposed land uses, key planning constraints and development applications required.
